Home Sweet Home!
One thing about this trip was the elevation. We agreed we needed to avoid over 5,000 feet so we had to redo our path home. We did not want to drive back down to Arizona through California so we decided to head to Reno, Nevada and get to Arizona through Nevada. It was a challenge to find stops lower than 5,000. Traveling through the Sierras into Nevada were lots of ups and downs and still snow in parts! Our first stop after saying goodbye to California was Fox Brewery in Reno

Last Leg! Wright’s Beach and Redwood National Park!
We left the Sierra Mountains and headed for the coast on Friday April 10th and traveled to Sonoma State Park Wright’s Beach. We were a little bummed the weather forecast was for rain but the ocean is great no matter what the weather. When we booked we could only get a site that did not have an ocean view and Tom mentioned that and the park attendant said an ocean view site became available so we took it! What a wonderful view! She told us to come back in the morning to see if

Oakhurst! Eagles, Easter, Big Trees, El Capitan and more!
On the way to Oakhurst we stopped in the town of Firebaugh where Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen is from. The workers at the high school gave us a thumbs up! I guess we were not the first fans to show up in town! We arrived in Oakhurst April 2nd for a week. We got a new rental car so we could do day trips. With it being Holy Week we had researched and found that there is a Catholic Church called Our Lady of the Sierra in Oakhurst so we could participate in the Triduum. What a gor

Pinnacles National Park, Rte 1 Coastline and San Francisco!
We stopped at a COE after Death Valley because the drive to Oakhurst near Yosemite would have been very long. It was on Lake Success in Porterville. The water hookup was 70 feet away and we had just enough hose so we had to get creative to level so we could use the water. The drive was changing from the desert to rolling hills and we started to see the sheer number of crops being grown. Oranges and miles and miles of almonds to name a few! Finally reached Pinnacles National P

Death Valley National Park
We really did not know what to expect to see at Death Valley. We definitely came out of it pleasantly surprised. Death Valley, surprisingly, only became a national park in 1994. It is located in the Mojave Desert and is the largest national park spanning over 3 million acres. It is also the hottest, driest, and lowest national park. One thing that surprised us was the salt! The salt is left behind from evaporated ancient lakes. There is a lot of it! Some places it looks like

Joshua Tree National Park
Entering California from the desert south was very interesting. We immediately noticed how hard life must be for the people who live there. We decided to see as much as we could of the national park when we arrived before we checked into the campground. Good thing! The campground we stayed at is in the Joshua Tree National Park. We were surrounded by so many Joshua trees!! Unfortunately, we spent a lot of time trying to get level and to have to do it all over the next day if

California Bound!
We started on our 2026 Adventure on Sunday, March 15th. It’s been a week of unprecedented weather and unreal temperatures. Sunday through Wednesday we experienced 40mph wind gusts and overnight temps in the teens with below zero windchill. We did thankfully miss the blizzard that slammed the upper Midwest. Sunday we stopped at a Cracker Barrel in Ohio. It was chilly but not bad. I looked ahead and saw the temps for Tuesday and we found a place in Indiana which is part of RV O

Last Adventure of The Year! And Our Summer on The Natchaug River!
It’s been a wonderful season of travel, meeting old friends, making new friends, visiting with family and enjoying the beauty of our country! And of course enjoying the Natchaug River in Chaplin, CT! We are blessed to be able to own two RVs so one takes us on our travels and the other sits on a seasonal site 40 minutes from home. This last trip brought us to South and then North Carolina. Our main reason for the trip was to attend the National Dutch Oven gathering in Shelby,
