Capitol Reef is a smaller National Park but there is still lots to see. There is a scenic drive but with just the one afternoon to see it and our motor home is a little large for the road we decided to stay in the main road of the park.
Capitol Reef has a distinctive feature in that it has a geologic monocline. They are step-like bends in rock layers often found in regions with uplift or tectonic activity.

Along Route 24 we saw many interesting rock formations. We stopped to look and learn about an ancient civilization that lived there. They left drawings on the rocks called petroglyphs.

Capitol Reef was a sort of quick stop. But a worthwhile one!
Happy Trails!
